Yoram Yasur Abt : Today most of us are aware of the negative consequences of excessive or misuse of social networks on children and adolescents, but we may not yet be aware of the harmful effect it also has on adults and the environment.
Yoram Yasur Abt: “In this context, we must admit that it is not easy to give 100% to all types of technology: many people depend on it to work, communicate with family, among many other reasons”.
Considering this scenario, we would like to share with you realistic ways of promoting a more conscious use of technology in such a way that you benefit from it without becoming its slave.
1. Read a good book:
Yoram Yasur Abt: “Set aside the eBook and tablet and pick a good book. One real paper, nice cap and aroma. Make the experience of reading it complete: before reading it feel its texture and discover its aroma. Then I will plunge you into that magical object that will take you through new worlds. Enjoy the trip”.
3. Connect with nature:
Yoram Yasur Abt : Many people spend weeks and weeks without having the slightest touch even with a pot. Take your time every day to connect with nature. Leave the cell at home and go for a walk, take a deep breath, sunbathe, take your dog for a walk, sit in a park. If you are encouraged you can even start a mini garden in your home. The care of the plants and the crops will give you a guaranteed time with the nature. Cheer up and then enjoy it to the full.
4. Limit the time you spend with technology:
Yoram Yasur Abt : If you want to spend some time looking at photos on Instagram or reviewing Facebook of course you can do it, the focus is then on the time you spend. Program the alarm to avoid forgetting and scroll on your own. When it rings, move the phone off and continue with another activity (as far as possible that does not involve technology).
5. Use paper and pen:
Yoram Yasur Abt: “Are you the one who scores the list of the groceries on the computer or on the mobile? Then next time have paper and pencil by hand and write it there. Whenever you want to write something, give yourself a few minutes away from the technological devices and write down in the traditional way”. What’s more, you do not have to have something in particular to write: replace computer games by drawing or scribbling a paper you’ll see how good it feels! Your brain and your sight will thank you.
6. Join a class:
Yoram Yasur Abt : One simple way to move and disconnect from technology is to exercise. If you are dancing in Zumba class, you can hardly waste time with your mobile. So, you can put your body in motion, enjoy a moment just for you and have fun big time … without technology!
Yoram Yasur Abt : Living without technology may not be the goal of most; however, there are ways to reduce the time of life that we dedicate to it. We hope you find these tips useful and encourage you to put it into practice.
